What the method adds
A series of observations can be more useful than one isolated reading. Mapping helps compare affected and surrounding areas and can guide further checks against the building and plumbing layout.
Conditions and limitations
Materials, salts and residual moisture influence readings. A meter reading alone cannot identify the cause.
Useful preparation
Point out redecorated areas, different surface materials and earlier water damage.
From result to repair
Equipment readings are considered with the system layout, symptoms and other findings. Where access is justified, the opening and plumbing repair are agreed as part of the instruction. Detection does not remove the need to reach a concealed pipe.
